New York & Atlantic City

We travelled to New York and Atlantic City in September but these can of course also be great winter destinations but as our experience was during t-shirt weather this is considered summer!

Atlantic City is what some people described to us as the “poor mans” Vegas but we really enjoyed all it had to offer along with its famous boardwalk which we spent many an evening strolling along #boardwalkempire!

Atlantic City Boardwalk & Casinos

We only spent a few days here but between experiencing the bright lights of the resorts, the glorious sunshine, big sandy beaches and many many good eateries it was a great place to stop and recharge and despite the casinos it was family friendly.

Our top place to eat in Atlantic City with kids was the Rainforest Cafe – always great fun!

Visiting New York was fascinating and there is a lot you can see without spending lots of money of expensive tours. We spent a few days exploring the city by foot, subway and ferry and saw most of the big sites.

Our top things to do would be to walk over Brooklyn Bridge and admire the architecture and ponder about just how many padlocks are on there?!

The walk over Brooklyn Bridge was by far our city favourite
We lost count on how many padlocks there were but what a sight!

Once over the Brooklyn Bridge we took a ferry ride which enabled us to view the city in all its glory and would recommend with kids – boat trips are normally always a hit in our house and this was no different!

The perfect way to view the city for us was by water

Back on dry land however and exploring the city by foot (with a pram I might add!) was pretty easy and walking around the 9/11 memorial was an intense but fascinating sight. In between visiting the museums there was still some great outdoor things for the kids like the large play area in Battery Park City that Max enjoyed thoroughly!

We loved the play area in Battery Park City and there are a few to choose from too!

Because Mummy loves trains we also had to visit Grand Central Terminal station – and what a fantastic place – totally felt like we were in a movie though!
